Find out how the Condell Day Center began and where it’s going today.
Condell Medical Center in Libertyville developed the Condell Day Center for Intergenerational Care in 1992 to serve as a resource for individuals who care for children and adults. Integrating the activities of the Child Day Care and Adult Day Services, the Condell Day Center was awarded the Illinois Governor’s Award for Unique Achievement for creating the first intergenerational day program in Illinois to provide daily interaction between Adults and children.In July 2002, Condell Day Center expanded its services to include an outpatient rehabilitation program that provides all-day care to adults recovering from chronic illness, depression, trauma, surgery, as well as stroke, pneumonia or Parkinson’s disease.
Today, the Condell Day Center continues to lead the field in providing an enriching and stimulating environment for developing life skills, gaining independence and forming relationships for children and older adults.
