- Falling asleep at the wheel
- Lost productivity or workplace accidents
Diagnosis ...
The first step in diagnosing a sleep disorder is completion of a physical exam and medical history by a physician. If a sleep disorder is suspected, final diagnosis is possible through a sleep study.During a sleep study, the patient's brain waves, eye, muscle and limb movements, breathing and oxygen levels are monitored via video monitors and sensors attached to the patient. The patient will then meet with the physician to discuss the results of the test, as well as treatment options if necessary.
