DR. JONATHON CITOW graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with honors. He received his training in neurological surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. After receiving the second highest score in the United States on the written neurological surgery board examination, he authored five textbooks Comprehensive Neurosurgical Board Review, Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology , Neuroradiology and Neuropathology, Neurosurgery Oral Board Review, and Neurosurgery Question and Answer Book.Dr. Citow has published numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and recently was nominated to the editorial board of the international journal Spinal Cord. Dr. Citow remains active in teaching and research as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Chicago. His special interests include cerebral aneurysms, tumors (including acoustic neuromas and pituitary tumors), complex spinal disorders and fusions, minimally invasive surgery (ie. outpatient endoscopic and microscopic diskectomies), trigeminal neuralgia, Chari malformations, hydrocephalus, and chronic pain management (intrathecal morphine pumps, etc.) Dr. Citow cares for both adult and pediatric neurosurgical patients.
