Cardiac Support Group for Women
Starts at Condell Medical Center
LIBERTYVILLE, IL—Women with heart disease have their own unique feelings and concerns. A new support group for women with cardiac disease—run by women who really understand because they live with it—starts at Condell Medical Center on Tuesday, November 27. Women with heart disease or women with a family history of heart disease can benefit from the camaraderie and education this group will provide.
The first session will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Condell's Day Center Solarium, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville, located on the hospital's main campus. Future meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month, starting January 29, 2008.
The support group is being presented through Condell Medical Center's partnership with WomenHeart, the national coalition for women with heart disease. WomenHeart provides support, information and advocacy to improve cardiac care. The organization promotes early detection, accurate diagnosis and proper treatment in order to achieve optimal quality of life for women with heart disease.
The group will be hosted by local resident and heart patient Debbie Dunn, a national WomenHeart spokesperson and speaker for the American Heart Association.
